Project Management
Jelani has strong project management experience with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, communicate effectively, solve problems, and make decisions in fast-paced environments. He has implemented new procedures and processes to drive work more efficiently. Jelani has worked cross-functionally with internal and external partners in a proactive and collaborative approach in overseeing logistics and delivery of project deliverables (ex: static assets, Display ads, OOH ads, TV/Radio copy) ensuring assets were created to spec, on time and in line with brand messaging.
Marketing Strategy
Jelani is experienced in supporting and executing data driven marketing and audience growth strategies that have engaged fans, sold tickets, and enhanced branding.
At the Mets he worked directly with the internal business intelligence and MLB Club Analytics teams to analyze customer/fan data and market trends to build concrete understanding of our customers in development of marketing strategy. He has also provided ideation support for different marketing tactics such as cultural initiatives, brand campaigns, individual ticket offers, evolving season membership programs etc.
Performance Media
Jelani has over 4 years of experience in supporting the day-to-day execution and operations of paid media campaigns across multiple channels (SEM, Programmatic Display, Paid Social, Video, Audio).
Email Marketing
Jelani has experience managing multiple aspects of email campaign execution in a coordinated effort with stakeholders. He has served as the primary liaison for campaign management for all phases of the process. Jelani has proactively collaborated with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into well defined processes, project managed new campaigns/enhancements from inception to implementation, and ensure accurate and timely campaign execution.

Jelani has experience in the planning and execution of events, from surprise pop events and pre-game festivals, to activations around large-scale events. Jelani tackles every project with client and customer satisfaction in mind.
In support of MLB’s Play Ball initiative, Mr. Met, members of the Citi Perk Patrol & Front office staff paid a surprise visit to the Elmjack Little League. Mr. Met threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to a few games, posed for photos and signed autographs, while all little league players received promo items, got to test their skills on a speed pitch & t-ball inflatables and enjoyed music throughout the day from DJ Saturn.
Play Ball Weekend (2017)
Every last weekend at home during the regular season, we host our annual Fan Appreciation Weekend. From Friday through Sunday, every fan received a scratch-off card where they won anything from an opportunity to throw out the first pitch or take a photo on field post game, a Dunkin’ gift card, a seat upgrade or autographed merchandise. We also had pregame autograph sessions and player appearances at the gates.
Worked collaboratively with internal departments to plan and execute the logistics and timeline of everything from procurement of prizing, staffing, execution of the multiple prize redemption areas, alumni and player appearances and more.
Fan Appreciation Weekend (2017)
Family Sunday
Every Sunday we hosted a pregame festival for fans with a DJ, face painters, occasional live radio broadcasts, carnival games, dunk tank, inflatables and more!
Strike Out Slavery was created to spread awareness about modern-day slavery and help an international network of nonprofit organizations rally against it. The event featured a pregame awareness festival where baseball fans engaged with local and national organizations and participated in activities and giveaways. All fans in attendance were invited to stay for a postgame concert featuring GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and rapper, Ms. Lauryn Hill.
Worked collaboratively with the S.O.S. team and internal departments to plan and execute the promotional campaign (digital, OOH, email, TV & radio). Also collaborated internally in the development of most of the aspects of the project life cycle for this event: procurement, site planning, timelines, preparation of logistics, run of shows, talent rider, staffing, execution of plaza and concourse activation plans and event execution.
Strikeout Slavery
The Good, the Bad, the Hungry ESPN Activation
In promotion of the ESPN documentary premiere of “The Good, the Bad, the Hungry,” ESPN had Joey Chestnut come out to Citi Field for a game to throw out the first pitch, hand out hot dogs to fans and do an interview in the booth for the network’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcast.
Worked collaboratively with internal departments to plan and execute the logistics and timeline of everything from his arrival with his posse of hot dogs at his hot dog thrown, the first pitch, the in-game hot dog delivery, and making sure he arrived in time for his interview in the booth. Definitely one of the most interesting activations I’ve been a part of.
